A Return to the Self That Was Waiting
The UNBecoming Reset · Week 6
If you have made it this far, take a second to let that land.
You have moved through Stuck, Control, Death, Shedding, & Void. That is not light work. Most people never make it past the first step of noticing something is wrong. You went further. You stayed with yourself through discomfort, loss, quiet, & uncertainty.
And now you have arrived here. Return.
Part VI. of The UNBecoming, Return
Before you go any further, I want to say this clearly: if you have not completed the previous chapters, I urge you to pause here.
You deserve to experience it all in order, not out of context.
Return is not about going back to who you were. That version served a purpose, but you outgrew it. Return is about coming back to yourself with everything that you have learned, everything you have shed, & everything that you have survived. It is the moment when the fog starts to thin, when the world begins to take shape again, & when you feel the first hints of clarity after a long stretch of not knowing.
For me, Return was not a single moment. It came slowly, almost unnoticed at first. After months of unraveling my identity as an influencer, after stepping away from the constant grind of performance, & after sitting in the uncomfortable quiet of Void, I started to feel pieces of myself come back online. Not all old pieces, some new ones. Softer ones. More grounded ones.
The kind that were hard to hear when the noise was loud.
Return is like waking up from a long sleep you did not realize you were in. You feel different inside your body. You move differently. You make decisions differently. You trust yourself differently. You see your life with new eyes. Not because everything is suddenly fixed or perfect, but because you finally have enough space inside of you to hold yourself without collapsing.
This week is about recognizing that shift. It is about noticing the new version of you that is taking form & giving it room to anchor. It is about honoring the journey you just walked & allowing yourself to step back into your life with intention instead of habit.
Return is not the end of the process. It is the beginning of living from a place that feels real. And if you let it, it can be the start of the version of your life that you were always meant to inhabit.
Your Return Letter
For this final week, we are doing things differently.
Instead of analyzing or unpacking anything, you are going to write a letter. This letter is for the version of you who is returning now. The one who has moved through the unraveling & is finally coming back online in a new, more grounded form.
When you feel ready, take one deep breath in & slowly exhale. Repeat until you feel calm & settled.
Begin writing directly to the version of yourself who is returning now. The one who has made it through the unraveling, the shedding, the void.
Let this letter be a welcome home.
To help guide you, move through these prompts as slowly or as deeply as you need:
Start by acknowledging them
Tell this version of you, “I see you.” Describe who they are in this moment: steadier, softer, clearer, changed in ways that might be hard to name but impossible to ignore.
Welcome them back
Write a few lines about what it means to have them here again. What have you missed about them? What are you relieved to feel returning?
Honor what they survived
Name the challenges, endings, or transformations they moved through to arrive at this place. You don’t need to list everything. Just try speaking to the weight of the journey & the wounds or truths they’ve carried.
Recognize what’s different
What feels new in them? What feels more honest? What have they released in order to return?
Offer them something they need
This could be reassurance, gratitude, permission, forgiveness, or even confidence. Imagine speaking to yourself the way you wish someone had spoken to you during the hardest parts of this reset.
This letter does not need to be perfect. Please don’t strive for perfection. It does not need to “sound wise.” It only needs to be honest. This is not a place for goals or plans. You are acknowledging the self that has emerged after everything you have walked through.
When your letter feels complete, pause for a moment. Place the page on your lap or beside you & let the words settle.
You’ll return to this letter after the final ritual.
Your Four Compass Points
These four compass points are anchors to guide you as you step back into yourself.
Move through each one at a leisurely pace. A sentence or two for each is enough. Above all, be truthful & genuine.
1. One Value You’re Choosing to Lead With
Pick one value that feels true for who you are now. Not who you were but who you’re becoming.
Ask yourself:
What value has been whispering to me throughout this Reset?
2. One Boundary You’re No Longer Willing to Break
Choose a boundary that protects your energy & your return.
Ask yourself:
Where have I abandoned myself before, & what line needs to be drawn now?
3. One Desire You’re Finally Ready to Admit
Let one honest desire surface, even if it scares you.
Ask yourself:
What do I want that I’ve been afraid to say out loud?
4. One Truth You Can No Longer Ignore
The truth that’s followed you through all six weeks.
Ask yourself:
What is undeniable now, even if I tried not to see it?
Keep these four points close. They are your orientation markers for the next chapter. Let them be the quiet guide you return to whenever you feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or tempted to slip back into old patterns.
And remember, you don’t need to have everything figured out. You never will.
You just need direction.
