This weekend, September 25th through September 27th, Take What You Need will have a short but sweet residency inside Kendra Scott on the Country Club Plaza, right in the middle of one of the longest-running & most celebrated art festivals in the country: the Plaza Art Fair.
And if your Saturday afternoon is still open, consider dropping in between 1 & 3 PM. I’ll be joining the Kendra Scott crew to hang out, share a little more about the installation, & help you find a letter that feels like yours. You can RSVP here (it’s free).
Ask me how this strange little idea involving some leftover lumber, fishing wire & a few dozen letters somehow became this. That’s one of my favorite stories to tell.
There’s another layer to the afternoon that makes this one particularly special to lil’ ole me. Kendra Scott’s Shop for Good program allows the featured artist to select a nonprofit to benefit from the event & proceeds will go to BoysGrow (BG).
I've spent the last two years volunteering with BG & have gotten to see firsthand what happens when young men are given space to learn, work with their hands, build confidence & discover what they're capable of. During Saturday's event, 20% of qualifying Kendra Scott purchases will benefit BG, so you can come for the art, leave with something shiny & do a little good along the way.

While I’ve been relatively quiet about it, TWYN has been busy.
Earlier this month, 160 letters made their way to Mississippi State for an activation on World Suicide Prevention Day. Another set traveled considerably farther, crossing the Atlantic to Greece with Rom Soul Escapes.
TWYN has also been making its way through St. Joseph for a community event, where it was joined by the Little Caesars Love Kitchen, a fully equipped, 45-foot mobile restaurant on wheels. And over the next few weeks, I’ll be bringing the experience to CAPACares’ annual staff retreat, Prairie Sky Counseling’s annual fundraiser &, somehow, Hallmark. Yes, that Hallmark. The greeting cards. The Hallmark Channel. Christmas movies Hallmark.
And it deserves its own Substack.
