do not ask me how I decided to incorporate lemonade into french toast
it is what it is. However, you are allowed to ask "why is this so damn good?" The question is highly likely after trying this recipe :)
if you're unfamiliar with the flavor of matcha, it's incredibly earthy & slightly bitter. The perfect partner for the bright tanginess of lemon. Add sweet things into the mix & boom - you've got a harmonic symphony of contrasting yet complimentary flavors.
the icing on top, both literally & figuratively, is a matcha spiked condensed milk. For a more vibrant pop of lemon-y flavor, I highly recommend adding zest to the matcha-sugar coating; more details below in the recipe.

to prepare french toast bites, in a bowl, whisk eggs, coffee creamer, lemonade, vanilla extract, 2 teaspoons match powder & a pinch of salt. Set aside. In a separate bowl, mix 1 teaspoon matcha powder & granulated sugar - if desired, add lemon zest for a bolder / brighter flavor. Set aside. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium-high heat. While butter is melting, add half of the sweet rolls to the creamer-egg mixture; submerge them for 6-8 secs. Shake off excess of the mixture or allow to drip off on a wire rack-lined baking sheet. Repeat with remaining rolls. Place rolls in pan ensuring that there is no overcrowding. Brown on all sides. Remove from pan & set aside. Repeat process until all rolls are cooked. Toss rolls in prepared matcha-sugar mixture, if desired. Serve hot with matcha sweetened condensed milk.
